According to the Department of Science and Technology, the whole city has put into operation 920 5G BTS stations, reaching a coverage rate of 100% of the population. It facilitates technology application in production, management and services for people. Indicators such as the number of mobile broadband subscribers/100 people, the rate of people using the internet and the rate of households with fiber optic broadband internet access are relatively high compared to the national average, naming Hai Phong one of the top 10 localities in the country in terms of telecommunications infrastructure index and the rate of people and households using broadband internet services. In the coming time, the Department will continue to strengthen the direction and management of telecommunications enterprises, focus resources on accelerating the installation of 5G BTS stations, strengthen mobilization to raise public awareness of the importance of infrastructure development and 5G coverage so as to reach consensus on 5G application in daily life.
