Therefore, Hai Phong Labor Federation has made efforts to promote the development of trade unions at FDI enterprises so as to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers and ensure harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Right from the beginning of operation, the collective of workers of Global Material Handling Co.,ltd, about more than 300 people, wished to have a trade union to represent and protect their legitimate rights and interests. They simultaneously applied to join the Vietnam trade union. The trade union of the company has been recognized by Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation as a grassroots trade union and ratified the Executive Committee of the company's trade union.
The union was quickly established shortly after the company officially started operation, demonstrating the great efforts and determination of the pioneers in developing unions at the grassroots level, especially in special areas such as FDI enterprises.
Currently, 83% of industrial parks and economic zones in the city have established trade unions. The unions always disseminate the company's policies and guidelines, promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, launches patriotic emulation movements such as the movement of good workers, creative workers or cultural and sports activities for taking care of material and spiritual life, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encouraging workers to work with peace of mind, enthusiastically contributing their talents and intelligence to develop the company.
