The project of building Cat Bi International Airport Cargo Terminal is invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), with a total investment of 725 billion VND from ACV's legal capital. The project started in November 2024 and has been urgently implemented. During holidays, all workers have been working hard at the construction site to ensure the progress of the plan.
The project meets the capacity of 100,000 tons of cargo/year and the technical infrastructure system serves the storage of goods for national and international airlines. Identifying this as an important project, the contractor, the Joint Venture of the Corporation 319 under Ministry of National Defense and Song Da 5 Joint Stock Company, has placed focus on completing the project on schedule while ensuring security and safety. Regarding the overall progress of the project, it is expected to be completed and put into use after 15 months from the date of commencement of construction. The cargo terminal project plays an important role in the logistics chain; meeting the growing trend of air freight transport. The new cargo terminal of Cat Bi International Airport has the capacity of 250,000 tons of cargo/year; helping to connect trade and reduce freight costs; create infrastructure synchronization when put into operation. The project is expected to facilitate the development of Viet Nam's aviation industry, enhance the competitiveness of Hai Phong city in the fields of investment and trade.
