In 2025, Hai Phong City celebrates the 70th anniversary of the city's Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025). The Port City is proud and confident that under the leadership of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, together with the close direction of the Party Committee, the city government, the army and people of Hai Phong have contributed worthily to the great victory of the nation in the resistance war against the US, completing the cause of national liberation and national reunification.

Promoting the tradition of "Loyalty and determination to win", the city has constantly innovated, achieved comprehensive and great achievements, and become one of the leading Vietnamese localities in the cause of national construction and development.

With the outstanding achievements throughout history and in the cause of innovation, the title "Heroic City" of the President responds to the expectations of the entire government and people of the city, recognizing and honoring the indomitable spirit and great contributions of the city’s Party Committee, government, army and people in the cause of national liberation struggle, building and defending the Fatherland.

Hai Phong City will officially receive the title at the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day held on May 13./.
