Ensuring the safety of urban greenery systems during the rainy season
Climate change is becoming more and more complicated, causing the groundwater level to sink, and many fasciculate root trees become unable to access water sources, and their growth is poor. On the other hand, the implementation of underground infrastructure projects has directly harmed the roots, making the tree susceptible to uprooting in case of heavy rain and strong winds. These are the leading causes of unsafety for urban trees, especially in the rainy season.

The review shows that more than 100 large trees are at high risk of falling or dangerous decaying trees that need cutting down. All of these trees or branches have been removed. The company also trimmed, raised the canopy, and lowered the height for about 700 shade trees, concentrated on the central streets. Many rotten trees with still-green leaves are difficult to detect based solely on experience and naked-eye observation.

Besides intensely directing the implementation of solutions to ensure the safety of urban trees in the rainy season, the Department of Construction requires its affiliates to set up plans to protect and preserve rare and precious trees, complete the statistics on the number of trees, location, route, type of tree, name, height, trunk diameter, year of planting, growth status and numbering on trees for effective management.
