Exhibition marking 80 years of Hai Phong following Uncle Ho's teachings
To mark the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s first visit to Hai Phong, the Hai Phong Museum has organized a special exhibition entitled “80 Years of Hai Phong Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Teachings.” Featuring more than 300 documents, photographs and artifacts, the exhibition connects milestones in his revolutionary career with his affection for the port city and the efforts of generations of Hai Phong residents to follow his teachings.

Photographs capturing Uncle Ho alongside workers, officials, soldiers and children, together with documents about his visits and working trips to Hai Phong, form a continuous historical narrative. Each image helps visitors gain a deeper understanding of his concern for the city and its people. For students, the exhibition also offers an opportunity to explore history through visual materials that complement textbook knowledge and bring stories about Uncle Ho closer to their everyday lives.

The exhibition takes visitors from Sen Village, his hometown, through the journey of young Nguyen Tat Thanh as he sought a path to national liberation, to the years when he directly led the Vietnamese revolution. On October 20, 1946, following a visit and working trip to France, he returned to Vietnam through Hai Phong Port. During subsequent visits, Uncle Ho consistently showed concern for production and people's livelihoods, offering warm encouragement to the city's residents and soldiers.

Open to the public until November 30, 2026, at 66 Dien Bien Phu Street, Hong Bang Ward, the exhibition provides a venue for historical learning and traditional education. Through these archival materials, visitors can deepen their respect and affection for President Ho Chi Minh while strengthening their sense of responsibility to contribute to building an increasingly civilized and modern Hai Phong.
