Hai Phong city is currently in the top of the country in FDI attraction. Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone; industrial parks such as Trang Due, Nam Dinh Vu... have become the destination of a series of leading corporations from Korea, Japan, the United States, China, Singapore and many other major economies.
In the period of 2026-2030, in an effort of realizing the city's double-digit economic growth targets, industrial parks and economic zones aim to attract 20 - 25 billion USD, an average of 5-6 billion USD/year. This is a challenging task in the current context, requiring Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority and the city to proactively find solutions. Identifying investment promotion as a key step, the city has continuously taken innovation and become flexible in its activities to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of Hai Phong's investment environment. In addition to investment promotions in key, traditional markets, the Investment Promotion Conference in July ended in success, attracting more than 1,000 representatives and the total investment of up to more than 15 billion USD. Many valuable memorandums of understanding have been signed. Key infrastructure projects have been directed by the city to be implemented, creating a solid foundation for long-term development. Many industrial park projects, cargo terminal projects, phase 2 aircraft parking expansion, T2 passenger terminal - Cat Bi International Airport have been deployed. Most recently, the LNG thermal power plant project has just started construction in Tan Trao Industrial Park in the southern coastal economic zone of Hai Phong city. The Central Government's facilitation to establish the southern coastal economic zone, the approval of Resolution 226 of the National Assembly and the piloting of the new generation free trade zone model as well as the promotion of modern deep-water port projects in Lach Huyen and Nam Do Son are expected to lay a base for Hai Phong to increase its strategic appeal and attract high-quality, new-generation investment projects. With its efforts and methodical steps, Hai Phong city continues to affirm itself as a strategic destination for domestic and foreign investors. The city attracted more than 15.6 billion USD in just one promotion event, demonstrating the strong confidence of domestic and foreign investors in the development potential of Hai Phong city.
