Cat Ba amassed more than one million visitors this year
In the first six months of the year, the number of visitors to Cat Ba increased sharply, especially as tourism peaked in summer. Cat Ba reached the milestone of more than one million visitors with impressive growth in revenue from tourism services, significantly contributing to the budget revenue of the Cat Hai district.

In the past six months, the number of visitors to Cat Ba reached more than one million, equivalent to about 111% compared to the same period in 2022, of which international visitors account for 223,000 visits. The total revenue from accommodation and food services grossed 941 billion VND, with the total number of visitors, including overnight-staying ones (~154,000) on the bays of the Cat Ba archipelago of over 303,000, in which non-accommodating tourists accounting for about 149,000 visits. For 2023, Cat Hai district targets to welcome 3 million visitors to Cat Ba. With the completion of the reduction of aquaculture cages, the green, clean, and beautiful environment of Cat Ba Island and a promising signal of Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba archipelago will soon be recognized by UNESCO as the world’s natural heritage, and Cat Hai district will quickly complete the target on the number of tourists.
