In the first 6 months of this year, Hai Phong City recorded a budget revenue of more than 96, 800 billion VND. Of this impressive figure, the former Hai Phong City reached about 77,319 billion VND, an increase of 27.1% over the same period last year, Hai Duong province reached over 19,500 billion VND, an increase of 35% over the same period in 2024.
In the total revenue of more than 96,800 billion VND of Hai Phong City after the merger, domestic revenue reached over 42,300 billion VND, equal to 137% over the same period and over 78% of the estimate. Excluding land use fees and land rent of over VND 24,000 billion, some revenue items achieved quite high levels such as FDI reached over VND 3,300 billion, making up of 60.6% of the estimate; Non-state economic sector reached VND 6,400 billion, accounting for107.8% of the estimate and Personal income tax reached VND 3,130 billion, equivalent to 80.5% of the estimate.
This achievement is  partly attributed to the great effort of the tax officials and civil servants in the context that the whole country has strengthened restructuring and streamlined the apparatus. Solutions to prevent revenue loss, reform procedures, promote digital transformation, information transparency and strict control of the Tax sector are the keys to this outstanding growth. Revenues from FDI enterprises, non-state economic sectors and personal income tax all reached high levels.
The budget revenue of VND 96,800 billion, an increase of about 30% compared to the previous year, exceeding the estimate, lays a solid foundation for the whole year of 2025. With such high revenue, Hai Phong will accelerate the implementation of such key projects as Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong Railway project. Southern Coastal Economic Zone Planning project, Social Housing projects, and some key projects connecting the region. The increase in Hai Phong's budget revenue in the first half of the year reflects the effectiveness of tax management mechanism innovation, administrative reform and the potential for regional economic development. It is promising that this year will be a year of bumper revenue in terms of budget, investment and development.
