Hai Phong steps up digitization of administrative records
Accelerating the digitization of records and reusing data to reduce and simplify administrative procedures are among the key tasks Hai Phong is stepping up.

In the past, residents often had to prepare numerous documents each time they needed to complete an administrative procedure. In many cases, missing documents or errors in applications meant repeated trips, costing time and effort. However, as the digitization of administrative records has been accelerated, these inconveniences are gradually being addressed. The integration of data on digital platforms, particularly the National Public Service Portal, has significantly reduced manual procedures for residents, saving time and cutting the costs of printing, notarization and travel.

Digitizing records not only benefits residents but also helps authorities improve the efficiency and quality of their work. Once records are digitized, stored electronically, connected, shared and reused, government agencies can exchange information seamlessly, retrieve data quickly and reduce paperwork and processing times, while limiting errors and ensuring the accuracy and security of information.

The municipal People's Committee has issued Document No. 712, directing departments, agencies and local authorities to step up the digitization of administrative records and the results of administrative procedures, ensuring that targets set by the Government are met. Agencies handling administrative procedures are not to require residents or businesses to submit additional documents where the information system for administrative procedures is already connected to and able to access and use data from national and sector-specific databases.
