Cao Duc Tuong has worked in the port industry for more than 10 years. For Tuong and his colleagues in the port sector, working during the National Day holiday while others are off is nothing new. A sense of responsibility has become part of the routine for port workers, helping them find satisfaction in their work.

Over the past two consecutive months, Hai Phong TIL International Terminal (HTIT) has welcomed two new services, SEI2 and ZXB, strengthening trade links between Vietnam and major economic centers in Asia and on the U.S. East Coast. The new services also underscore HTIT’s capacity to handle ultra-large container ships as part of the global maritime network.

During this year’s National Day holiday, the number of vessels calling at HTIT for cargo handling, as well as the volume of cargo handled, has increased from a year earlier. HTIT, along with ports across the city, continues to provide a full range of services, ensuring uninterrupted operations to meet the needs of shipping lines and businesses.

According to figures compiled by the Hai Phong Maritime Administration and port operators, from Aug. 28 to Sept. 2, 2026, Hai Phong’s ports received more than 450 vessel calls, while cargo throughput was estimated at more than 1.8 million toes, up from a year earlier. Even during the holiday period, cargo flows through Hai Phong have remained uninterrupted.
