During practical sessions at the Logistics Center of the Viet Nam Maritime and Inland Waterway College I, students practice using enterprise resource planning software, operating manual pallet trucks, and receiving and storing goods.Along with the growth in cargo throughput the port and import-export activities, the logistics industry has a huge demand for professionally trained workers with vocational skills, foreign-language proficiency, digital technology skills and a professional work ethic. Anticipating this trend, vocational training institutions in the maritime and logistics sectors have developed training programs that increase practical training hours and update curricula with content on green logistics, supply chain management and digital transformation. They are also expanding partnerships with seaport, transport and logistics companies, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in real-world working environments while still in school.

Support from the central government and the city is also helping improve both the quantity and quality of logistics workforce training. The Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) forecasts that by 2030, Vietnam's logistics industry will need to add more than 1 million workers, including around 200,000 highly qualified personnel with professional degrees and certificates, specialized skills and foreign-language proficiency./.
