Cooperation In Developing Semiconductor Industry And AI Strengthened
On the occasion of attending the 79th United Nations General Assembly High-level Week and the working visit to the United States, Vietnam’s General Secretary cum President To Lam discussed strengthening Vietnam-US cooperation in developing the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence.
The event gathered leading technology organizations and corporations from the United States and the world. Leaders of Hai Phong City, including Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Head of Hai Phong City's National Assembly delegation attended the event.
At the seminar, representatives of technology corporations shared their experience in developing semiconductors and artificial intelligence as well as potential opportunities for cooperation in these fields, especially when Vietnam has a number of large technology corporations that have actively participated in the field of artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Experts also highly appreciated the development strategy of Vietnam's semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry. They believe that with the outlined directions, Vietnam will become an attractive destination for investors in the fields and will achieve success in the future.
Sharing with the representatives of technology corporations, Vietnam’s General Secretary cum President To Lam said that in order to develop the country in such a rapid and sustainable way, it is necessary to rely on science and technology innovation. The Party and State have identified three strategic breakthroughs for the country's socio-economic development by 2030, which are infrastructure institutions and human resources development associated with economic restructuring and innovation of the growth model based on science and technology for the best development as well as innovation and creativity of Vietnam’s cultural values.
Developing semiconductors and AI is an objective requirement prioritized in scientific and industrial development. The country has prioritized selective high-tech projects, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, research and development of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and built synchronous infrastructure. It is favorable that Vietnam and the United States upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership with two breakthrough cooperation pillars of innovation and the semiconductor industry. Vietnam has great strengths in human resources for these fields.
Vietnam's General Secretary and President To Lam spoke highly of the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in coordination with relevant agencies and FPT Corporation in promoting the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry. They believed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries would become increasingly effective, contributing to the sustainable development of the two sides./.
