Thai Business Delegation Surveys Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park and Explores Investment Opportunities in Hai Phong
On September 23, Shinec Joint Stock Company hosted a delegation from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and Thai businesses participating in the 22nd TOISC Program for a visit, working session, and field survey at Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park.
Attending the program, from the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board was Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Deputy Head of the Board. Representing the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) were Ms. Tidapan Sursattayawon, Minister-Counsellor and Director of the BOI Office in Hanoi, and Mr. Polapat Napapavornnan, Director of the Thai Enterprise Development Division under BOI in Bangkok, together with representatives of businesses participating in the 22nd TOISC Program.
Representing Shinec Joint Stock Company was Mr. Pham Hong Diep, Chairman of the Board of Directors, along with members of the Board of Management and representatives of units and partners within the company’s ecosystem.
The business delegation participating in the 22nd TOISC Program conducted a market survey in Vietnam from September 22 to 25, 2026. Organized by BOI, the program aims to help Thai businesses learn about the investment environment and markets, connect with potential partners, and identify issues to consider when carrying out overseas investment activities.
As part of the delegation’s survey program in Vietnam, Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park was selected as a destination for the businesses to gain first-hand insight into the investment environment in Hai Phong and study the eco-industrial park development model invested in and developed by Shinec.
At the working session, Mr. Pham Hong Diep, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shinec Joint Stock Company, introduced the company’s development in the industrial real estate sector. Shinec currently invests in and develops 14 industrial parks and industrial clusters across northern, central, and southern Vietnam, with a total industrial land area of approximately 2,500 hectares.
The projects are oriented toward eco-industrial park development models associated with the advantages and distinctive characteristics of each locality, gradually forming production and service complexes and appropriate value chains.
Sharing at the program, Mr. Pham Hong Diep said Shinec is simultaneously developing industrial real estate projects based on eco-industrial models combined with local cultural characteristics in various parts of Vietnam. The company aims to attract and develop industrial complexes based on the advantages of each location, thereby meeting the needs of domestic and foreign investors—including Thai businesses—for investment locations and business cooperation opportunities.
Based on its ecosystem of ongoing projects, Shinec introduced several sectors with potential for cooperation with Thai businesses, including renewable energy; agricultural and food processing in the Central and Central Highlands regions; aquaculture and seafood processing in the Mekong Delta; and electronics and mechanical manufacturing supply chains in northern Vietnam.
Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park was the first project Shinec developed according to the eco-industrial park model, beginning in 2008. The model focuses on promoting industrial symbiosis, using resources efficiently, reducing waste generation, and strengthening linkages between inputs and outputs among businesses within the industrial park.
Speaking at the working session, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said that Hai Phong has significant advantages in terms of its geo-economic position, industrial and commercial development traditions, and integrated transport infrastructure connecting multiple modes of transport, including road, sea, inland waterways, air, and rail. The city is continuing to improve its investment environment, administrative procedures, and business support services.
Hai Phong currently attracts investors from more than 40 countries and territories, with total foreign direct investment exceeding US$50 billion. The city continues to expand its industrial park system and prepare land and infrastructure conditions to accommodate new investment projects.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung expressed her hope that the survey would provide Thai businesses with more practical information and open up new opportunities for cooperation and investment between businesses from the two countries. Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park, in particular, is one of Vietnam’s pioneering and representative models of eco-industrial park development.
Mr. Polapat Napapavornnan, Director of the Thai Enterprise Development Division under BOI in Bangkok, said the survey was intended to help Thai businesses gain a more detailed understanding of investment opportunities in different localities, issues to consider when implementing projects, and available policies and forms of support.
In addition to promoting investment in Thailand, BOI also supports Thai businesses in seeking overseas investment opportunities, with Vietnam being one of the markets of interest.
During the working session, the TOISC delegation showed particular interest in investment opportunities in Vietnam, focusing on available land, infrastructure, ready-built factories, rental prices, labor supply, investment procedures, incentive policies, asset management, financial solutions, and the potential to participate in existing supply chains. The delegation also explored solutions for using clean and renewable energy to support production within the industrial park.
As part of the program, the Thai business delegation conducted a field visit to Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, where they learned about its infrastructure system, production-space organization, industrial symbiosis model, and activities supporting and connecting investors.
