Developing OCOP Products to Increase Value of Local Products
Fostering the potential and advantages of the locality, gradually building typical agricultural products into OCOP products is one of the preferential solutions implemented by Vinh Bao district to increase local product values, build agricultural product brands, increase income for farmers, contribute to developing a new model rural area in dept and sustainable development.
Vinh Bao district has more than 200 households growing chrysanthemum flowers with a cultivated area of nearly 30 hectares, with an average productivity of 250 to 300 kg of fresh flowers per perch. Since 2023, the chrysanthemum tea product of Thang Thuy Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative has been certified as a 3-star OCOP product at the district level and recognized by the City People's Committee as a typical rural industrial product in 2023. On January 10, this product was evaluated and classified as a 4-star OCOP product by Hai Phong City People's Committee.
From the source of agricultural products of the homeland, with the joint efforts and support of the cooperative, the chrysanthemum tea product has become increasingly known to consumers, so these flower fields have been increasingly expanded, bringing high economic efficiency to local farmers and becoming one of the typical and key plants in the economic development of the locality./.
