The Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong City, covering an area of approximately 20,000 hectares, is expected to be a multi-sectoral economic zone with an international scope, focusing on high-tech industries, modern logistics services, smart urban development, ecological tourism, and a pilot free trade zone. This will be a new driving force for economic growth and serve as the foundation for Hai Phong City to assert its position as a maritime economy center, international logistics services, and a key growth hub of the region and the country.
By 2030, the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong City will become the main driving force of the city's economy, equivalent to about 80% of the capacity of the Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone. The second economic zone will play a particularly important role in connecting with neighboring economic zones, forming a coastal economic zone chain and driving development throughout the region. Additionally, the Southern Coastal Economic Zone is expected to contribute 550,000 billion VND to the state budget and create 301,000 jobs. The establishment of this economic zone is a strategic decision, reflecting the city's will and aspiration to grow, and is a concrete step to implement the goals and tasks outlined in Resolution No. 45 and Conclusion No. 96 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Hai Phong City, contributing to making Hai Phong more prosperous and civilized.
At the conference, the city granted investment registrations and capital increase certificates to 11 enterprises, including Tràng Cát Urban Development One Member Limited Liability Company, IDICO Vinh Quang Joint Stock Company, Hai Phong International Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, Saigon - Hai Phong Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, Vinhomes Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company, Trakmotive Global Industrial Inc.
