Preserving And Promoting Vietnamese Cultural Identity

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently organized a national online conference summarizing the work in 2023 and implementing tasks in 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Politburo, attended and directed the conference. Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, and representatives of leaders in relevant departments, branches, and units attended for Hai Phong City at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that despite many difficulties and challenges in 2023, the culture, sports, and tourism sectors have achieved encouraging results, completing 133/148 (90%) tasks assigned by the Government, successfully organizing the series of activities for the 80th anniversary of Outline of Vietnamese Culture, the celebration of the 78th anniversary of the founding of the cultural industry, etc., contributing to spreading and attracting the attention of the entire society. Many traditional cultural values and cultural heritage of the nation were preserved, embellished, developed, and internationally recognized, such as the Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba archipelago complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, bringing the total number of recognized Vietnamese heritages to 32 heritages. 2024 will be an important year in implementing socio-economic development goals according to the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the five-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021 - 2025 in the context of many advantages and challenges intertwined, the Prime Minister proposed that the Culture, Sports, and Tourism sector should further promote its core role in the cause of “Revitalizing Vietnamese culture in the new era,” continuing to effectively deploy six tasks and four solution groups to build, preserve and promote the values of advanced and rich in national identity Vietnamese culture./.
