In a solemn atmosphere, before the sacred spirit of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the Hai Phong delegation expressed its infinite gratitude and profound respect for him. The delegates respectfully offered incense and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh—the great leader, brilliant genius, and national liberation hero who devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation and the struggle for peace and happiness for the Vietnamese people and people around the world.

His ideology, morality, and revolutionary career constitute an invaluable spiritual heritage and a guiding light, providing the Vietnamese nation with strength to advance confidently in the new era.

The Party Committee, authorities, armed forces, and people of Hai Phong City pledge to forever study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style; remain united; uphold the city’s tradition of “Courageous and Resolute – Victorious”; strive to overcome all difficulties; successfully achieve socio-economic development goals; safeguard national defense and security; and build Hai Phong into an increasingly civilized, modern, and sustainably developed city.

Eighty-one years ago, on September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He affirmed: “Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence, and in fact has become a free and independent country. The entire Vietnamese nation is determined to mobilize all its spirit and strength, and sacrifice its lives and property, to safeguard that freedom and independence.”
