Strengthening Coordination In Protecting Aquatic Resources
Cat Ba National Park and the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Inspectorate have recently coordinated to patrol and inspect the management and protection of forest resources, as well as the management and conservation of aquatic resources.

The natural resources in the Hai Phong marine area reflect the biodiversity of tropical seas, including ecosystems such as mangrove forests, coral reefs, and seagrass meadows. These ecosystems are home to rich marine biological resources and serve as habitats and breeding grounds for many high-value seafood species, including shrimp, squid, grouper, snapper, and crabs, along with numerous other marine specialties. However, in recent years, the marine resources of Hai Phong have been over-exploited, leading to a significant decline in their abundance. A number of valuable marine species are at risk of disappearing, while lower-quality fish species are increasingly dominating the output of fishing trips. The authorities have conducted inspections to ensure compliance with legal regulations on fishing vessel management in the bays of Cat Ba Archipelago, which is managed by Cat Ba National Park. In general, fishing vessel owners have complied well with the regulations on fisheries management, and no illegal fishing activities were detected. This is a practical activity aimed at implementing the cooperative program on forest resource management and fisheries protection between Cat Ba National Park and the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Inspectorate this year, contributing to the conservation and promotion of the values of Cat Ba Archipelago Biosphere Reserve and the world natural heritage site./.
