To facilitate the launching of the Dong Bai ferry, the investor–Cat Ba Sun Limited Company–in collaboration with the Department of Transport and other relevant units, has completed the acceptance documentation for the Dong Bai ferry terminal project. Simultaneously, the unit is fulfilling the necessary procedures for transferring the common technical infrastructure works and the ferry landing area to the city for proper management and operation per regulations. The trial run of the ferry has been conducted by Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company in coordination with relevant agencies. This agency also proactively prepares conditions to accept and operate the new ferry to replace the existing Got ferry.

From the beginning of the year until now, the Cat Ba tourist area has welcomed more than 130 thousand domestic and international tourists, marking a substantial increase of more than 70% compared to the same period last year. As the Cat Ba archipelago and Ha Long Bay are parts of the UNESCO-recognized World Natural Heritage, the introduction of Dong Bai ferry port, with better facilities and operational capacity, is expected to help the region overcome congestion at peak periods–a crucial factor in achieving the city's target of welcoming 3.6 million domestic tourists this year./.
