Hai Phong steps up cooperation with South Korean localities
A Hai Phong delegation has held talks with leaders of Incheon, South Korea, to discuss ways to promote cooperation in areas where both sides have potential and strengths, ahead of the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the two localities in 2027.
At the meeting, leaders of the two cities discussed their respective potential and advantages, as well as ways to strengthen ties and expand cooperation in areas suited to each locality’s development needs. As Vietnam-South Korea relations continue to consolidate and develop, closer cooperation between Hai Phong and Incheon will help expand local-level external relations, strengthen economic cooperation and promote people-to-people exchanges.
The Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Do Manh Hien stressed that the visit would provide an important foundation for the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the two cities in 2027. The official also called on both sides to step up cooperative activities and create fresh momentum for Hai Phong-Incheon relations in the new period.
Kim Seong-jung, Vice Mayor of Incheon, expressed his hope that cooperation between the two localities would continue to expand by building on their respective potential and strengths. The two cities will strengthen information exchange and experience-sharing on development, promote links among government agencies, businesses and social organizations, and organize cultural and people-to-people exchanges to further strengthen ties between the two cities.
