As reported by Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, in the first 5 months of 2015, the city-based industrial parks and economic zones attracted 16 new projects with a capital of USD 199.17 million and 8 projects with supplemented capital of USD 131.96 million. The total investment capital fetched USD 331.13 million, representing 71% over the same period last year and fulfilling 22% of the plan in 2015.

FDI projects mainly focus on auxiliary industries with small scale in VSIP Haiphong Township, Industrial and Service Park and Trang Due Industrial Park. It aims to provide components and parts for the major projects such as LGE, Kyocera, Fuji Xerox ... The largest  one is 100% Korean-invested project to  manufacture and assemble electronic integrated circuits of Haengsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd in Trang Due Industrial Park with a total investment of USD 100 million. FDI project with highest capital increase is the project of fashion production of Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co.,Ltd in VSIP with supplemented capital of  USD 90 million.
