Attending the conference were: Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Dao Trong Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Le Trung Kien, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; Vice Chairmen of the City People's Council and People's Committee; leaders of the City and local Departments, branches and sectors, and representatives of associations and experts in the field of green transformation and environmental protection.

2025 is a year of many particularly important events and milestones. The Hai Phong City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee have identified the year’s theme as: "Expanding the economic and urban space; promoting specific mechanisms and policies; enhancing green transformation and digital transformation", demonstrating determination for action towards the city's green transformation goals.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the City Party Committee, suggested that delegates discuss specific and practical solutions to effectively implement the green transformation goal, especially in the fields of industry, tourism, transportation, construction, logistics, etc.

With the theme "Hai Phong City to prepare resources for Green Transformation", the conference conducted many in-depth discussions, ass well as practical proposals and solutions on: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Green economic sectors, Green lifestyles and promoting sustainable consumption, etc, showcasing the importance of green transformation for the sustainable development of Hai Phong City. In the immediate future, the city needs to focus on green transformation in developing renewable energy, building ecological industrial parks and smart cities, developing green transportation, promoting circular economy, applying high technology in production and life. The conference also shared international and domestic examples of successful green transformation models in service of building and implementing the Hai Phong City Green Transformation Project for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Concluding the Conference, the Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung said that Hai Phong has made an early green transition, focusing on the industrial and transportation sectors. However, the green transition in Hai Phong is not widespread and synchronous. Besides, there is no policy mechanism to encourage and motivate units and enterprises to engage in green transition. Therefore, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested sectors and localities to urgently carry out green transformation tasks, specifically: assign the Department of Agriculture and Environment to absorb the discussions at the Workshop to complete the Hai Phong City Green Transformation Project for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, and submit it to the City People's Committee before April 10; Cat Hai District coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise on the issuance of a new Resolution on green transformation and green tourism development specifically for Cat Ba, to be submitted in the third quarter of 2025; Functional sectors develop policies and mechanisms to encourage organizations and individuals to participate in green transformation, focusing on industrial production, transportation, logistics, energy, and tourism. Assign the Press and Communication Center to strengthen propaganda work to raise public awareness of green transformation./
