In the first quarter, Hai Phong's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 11.07% over the same period. The industrial production index (IIP) is estimated to increase by 15.06%. State budget revenue in the area reached 47,873.44 billion VND, an increase of 44.16% compared to the same previous period, equal to 40.83% of the central budget estimate and 40.54% of the city People's Council budget estimate. Domestic revenue reached 28,537.72 billion VND, up 48.20% over the same period, equal to 55.96% of the central budget estimate and the city People's Council budget estimate. Revenue from import-export activities reached 18,742.67 billion VND, up 44.04% over the same period, equal to 29.89% of the central budget estimate and the city People's Council budget estimate. The total investment capital implemented in the area is estimated at 45,390.7 billion VND, up 15.9%, equal to 18.91% of the plan. The export turnover reached 8.58 billion USD, up 5.45%, equal to 23.19% of the yearly plan. Cargo output through the port is estimated at 38.45 million tons, up 6.67%, equal to 18.14% of the yearly plan. The number of tourists reached 1.806 million, up 12.29%, equal to 18.06% of the yearly plan. Attracting foreign investment reached 372.03 million USD, up 46.84%, equal to 8.27% of the yearly plan. 14,900 jobs were created, up 3.1%, reaching 25.47% of the plan. At the meeting, leaders of sectors and localities focused on analyzing and clarifying the results achieved in the first quarter, at the same time reflecting on some difficulties and problems, and proposing solutions.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that since the beginning of the year, the city has focused on streamlining the apparatus in the political system but still ensuring the implementation of tasks according to plan. However, the Chairman of the City People's Committee also pointed out that some achievements are still lower than planned and have not met expectations such as tourist attraction, disbursing public investment capital, total social investment capital; cargo output through the Port, and FDI capital attraction. The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that in the second quarter, sectors and localities accelerate progress and quality, promptly urge, rectify or remove obstacles in assigned tasks; organize enforcement against cases of non-compliance with land acquisition and clearance according to regulations; focus highly on auctions and bidding to select investors for approved projects; handle violations in key projects identified in the 2026-2030 period; be drastic in budget collection; promote the role of the camera surveillance system, strictly punish violations of street order and traffic safety.

Regarding the preparation for the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the 2025 Red Flamboyant Festival, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related departments and units to specifically review the contents and programs; reduce unnecessary events and work, focus on organizing festivals and activities to highlight and promote the image of Hai Phong City while ensuring solemnity, impression and effectiveness./.
