Opening Ceremony Of The 2023 Belgium Food And Culture Festival
On October 6th evening, the Vietnam–Czechoslovakia Palace of Friendship Labour Culture, The Embassy of Belgium in Vietnam, and the DEEP C Industrial Zone Complex collaborated and held the 2023 Belgian Food and Culture Festival’s opening ceremony. Mr. Karl Van Den Bossche–Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Le Khac Nam–Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee, and Mr. Bruno Jaspaert–Head of  DEEP C Industrial Zone Complex, attended the festival opening ceremony.

This was the third time a Belgian Food and Culture Festival was held in Hai Phong City, where the European country’s distinctive mixture of beer, music, and food was displayed. UNESCO has officially named the Belgian beer culture a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The festival seeks to tighten the friendly partnership between the Belgian Kingdom and Vietnam in general, and with Hai Phong City in particular, aiming to attract Belgian businesses and investors and promote the image of a growing, active, and living-worthy Hai Phong City as The Ambassador of the Belgian Embassy to Vietnam–Mr. Karl van Den Bossche–said the festival was to celebrate 50 years of Vietnam-Belgium diplomatic relations.

Mr. Le Khac Nam expressed his great appreciation for the investment and preparation of the festival by DEEP C Industrial Zone. The Vice Chairman highlighted that the festival had helped create a Belgian cultural space of bold distinction in the heart of the port city, bringing the inhabitants the chance to experience the cuisine and culture of Belgium.

The 2023 Belgian Food and Culture Festival was a large-scale, impressive event with performances from artists, bands, dancers, bartenders, carnivals, fireworks, and other European-themed entertainment activities. The site design took after the famous Atomium in Belgium, which captivated the attention of attendees. The participants also had a chance to try about 30 different types of the country’s beer and other cuisine specialties while learning about the history of the Belgian beverage and why it was so beloved.
