Protecting Legitimate Rights And Lives Of Trade Union Members And Workers
On January 16th, Hai Phong City’s Labor Confederation held a conference to summarize the movements of workers and civil servants and trade union activities in 2023, deploy tasks, and sign a mutual agreement in 2024. The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Phan Van Anh, attended and directed the conference. Also attending were Mr. Le Tri Vu, Member of Hai Phong City’s Standing Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committees Mass Mobilization Commission, and Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City Peoples Committee.
At the conference, Vice Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh expressed great appreciation to Hai Phong City's trade unions at all levels for protecting legitimate rights and taking care of the lives of trade union members. In particular, the Hai Phong Labor Federation took the lead in setting up public orientation apps on smartphones–a new, creative, and employee-oriented model. Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposed that in 2024, Trade Unions at all levels would continue to concretize tasks and solutions, bring Trade Union Resolutions at all levels to life, and strive to create achievements to celebrate 95 years of founding Vietnam Trade Union and actively participate in improving legal policies related to employees. The Vice Chairman also requested Hai Phong City’s trade unions at all levels to proactively dialogue with employers, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements, focusing on wages and working conditions, build a welfare program for trade union members while reviewing signed welfare cooperation, ending ineffective agreements that do not bring benefits to trade union members and workers./.
