After more than 2 decades of conservation and development, Cat Ba Archipelago World Biosphere Reserve has made efforts to preserve the values of natural resources and biodiversity as well as the values of the World Natural Heritage. 
Protecting and developing the specialized forest system is identified by Cat Ba National Park as a decisive task in maintaining and sustainably developing the biodiversity conservation of the Park as well as the World Biosphere Reserve. The Cat Ba Archipelago World Biosphere Reserve is not only a " Laboratory for Sustainable Development" in the system of National Parks and Protected Areas of Viet Nam, but also an indispensable part of the world heritages.

After Cat Ba Archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, maintaining and developing the forest and marine ecosystems of Cat Ba National Park is also the responsibility to preserve the values of the Heritage in an   effort of boosting the economic and social development associated with the sustainable conservation of the landscape and environment of Cat Ba Archipelago.
