Preservation Of Endangered Cat Ba Langurs
After 23 years of implementing the Cat Ba’s langurs conservation project, the number of langurs has increased from 47 individuals in 2000 to 82 individuals in September 2023.

The outstanding result was summarized at the conference held on Tuesday morning on Cat Ba’s langur conservation project from 2019 through 2023. The project was approved by the Hai Phong City People's Committee in 2019 and sponsored by Germany’s Leipzig Zoo in coordination with Vietnamese partner agencies. To date, there are 82 Cat Ba growing langurs in Cat Ba National Park. Cat Ba langur population increases on average by 3% per year. The conservation of Cat Ba langur, held with a community-based motto, helps the project bring initial positive results, contributing to conserving the overall biodiversity of Cat Ba National Park–a world biosphere reserve, as well as increasing values of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay–Cat Ba Archipelago./.
