Opening Of Hai Phong’s Central Urban Area Photo Exhibition
At the Hai Phong Exhibition and Fine Arts Center, the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition about the central urban area of Hai Phong City has just taken place. Mr. Olivier Brochet–French Ambassador to Vietnam, Mrs. Dao Khanh Ha–Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Propaganda Committee of the City Party Committee as well as Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho–Vice Chairman of the City Peoples Committee–attended the event.

The photo exhibition about Hai Phong City’s central area was organized by the city’s authorities in coordination with the French Embassy in Vietnam to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and ten years of establishing strategic partnerships between Vietnam and France. The event included nearly 700 works of photos, excerpts, and precious documents about Hai Phong City from the past until now with the theme: "Architectural heritage for today, prosperity for tomorrow.” With more than 300 French-style villas, of which more than 100 feature unique architecture and cultural and historical value, the French architectural works have been preserved to create a distinctive look for Hai Phong City.

The exhibition contributes to raising awareness of the role, meaning, and importance of promoting the architectural, cultural, and historical values of Hai Phong urban area and enhancing propaganda about Hai Phong City to domestic and international friends.

The exhibition is one of the activities to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and France while finding solutions to harmoniously combine conservation and sustainable urban development associated with tourism and service development in the central area of Hai Phong City. The exhibition took place from November 18th–21st at the City Exhibition and Fine Arts Center./.
