According to the Hai Phong Tax Authority, it processed VAT refunds for 533 applications during the seven-month period, with a total refund amount requested of 5.65 trillion dong. Following assessment, 5.574 trillion dong in VAT was refunded.

Speeding up the processing of tax refund claims while ensuring compliance with regulations has helped ease capital constraints for businesses, particularly manufacturers and exporters. It has also improved tax administration and created a more favorable environment for investment and business activities in the city.

Going forward, the Hai Phong Tax Authority will strengthen the review and inspection of tax refund applications and apply information technology to tax administration. It will process eligible applications promptly while maintaining strict controls to limit the risk of fraud and losses to the state budget.
