Hai Phong Seaport Handled 46 Million Tons Of Cargo In The First Half Of 2024
As one of the dynamic localities with bustling import-export activities in the Northern region, in the first 6 months of this year, the Hai Phong seaport area recorded more than 8,200 domestic and international vessels going in and out of the port. Maritime activities in the Hai Phong seaport area continue to be maintained, and traffic order and safety in the region remain stable.

 

In the first six months of 2023, Hai Phong seaport area welcomed approximately 53 million tons of goods, of which the volume of goods through by ship was estimated at nearly 45 million tons, meaning the goods through the port by inland waterway were at over 8 million tons. In the context of the global consumption situation still facing many difficulties and challenges, especially high shipping freight prices, these results are considered positive signals. 

The coordination between Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority and specialized State management agencies at seaports and related agencies and units continues to be always maintained. Meanwhile, the administrative procedure reform is also being implemented, contributing to removing difficulties for organizations, individuals, and businesses as well as promoting maritime development in the region.

Currently, the maritime activities in the area are happening at a high density such as wharf building and upgrading, dredging, and maintaining channels. In the coming time, Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority will continue to coordinate with relevant management agencies closely to synchronously implement solutions to maintain order and discipline, ensuring maritime safety and security. In the next six months of the year, Vietnam’s import and export situation is forecasted to improve. Local authorities will pay special attention to the infrastructure of Hai Phong Seaport. The administrative procedure reform will continue to be promoted to facilitate production and business, contributing to removing difficulties for businesses in the maritime sector./.
