Hai Phong Citys Economy Developed Steadily In The Past Ten Months
In 2023, Hai Phong City continues to be a highlight in Vietnam with many impressive results. Over the past ten months, the city's socio-economic situation has been stable and well-developed. Some major economic indicators increased over the same period, and the city's business and investment environment continued to improve.

The revenue State of budget in the city in the first ten months of this year is estimated to have amassed over 74,500 billion VND, reaching nearly 64% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council, equivalent to 84% of the same period last year, of which domestic revenue reached 26,050.2 billion VND, reaching 61.29% of the estimate and equal to 85.59% compared to the same period of 2022. Hai Phong City continued attracting foreign capital inflows in October as the cumulative in ten months officially crossed 3 billion USD. Notably, the foreign capital inflows have improved in quantity and quality with modern technology investment projects, such as LG Innotek's project in Trang Due Industrial Park with an increased capital of 1 billion USD to build the new V3 factory. SK Group of Korea was also granted the investment registration certificate for the first project in DEEP C Industrial Park with a total capital of 500 million USD.

A series of FDI projects has continuously expanded and newly granted in the third quarter of 2023. Key investment promotion activities and the consensus of the entire political system in administrative reform have been facilitating trade and investment.

Overall, in the first ten months of this year, the industrial production index increased by 13% compared to last year’s. Service and trade activities continue to maintain stable growth. Retail revenue in the past ten months is estimated at over 135,200 billion VND, up 14.12% over the same period. Foreign affairs activities, international integration, and regional connectivity have been promoted. The city is the destination of many regional and international trade connection conferences. Preparations for organizing trade connection activities are being enhanced.

Along with that, the city continues to put resources into major projects, perfecting transport infrastructure, seaports, and inter-regional connections, speeding up the disbursement of public investment capital. Some essential transport infrastructure projects include the Hai Phong International Gateway Port, Passenger Terminal Construction Investment Project No. 2, Aircraft Parking Expansion Project - Phase 2, and Cargo Terminal Construction Investment. Many large projects have been started and are being urgently implemented, contributing to enhancing the city’s position and opening up opportunities for the city’s development./.
