The university's team at this year's world finals included two national champions: Nguyen Mai Chi from the Institute of International Education and Pham Duc Dung from the Faculty of Information Technology. Competing against more than 130 contestants from 36 countries and territories, Nguyen Mai Chi won the world gold medal in the Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) category, the highest achievement recorded by Vietnam's team at the 2026 finals. Hai Phong's policies and mechanisms to develop high-quality human resources and nurture talent have also helped create a favorable environment for educational institutions to identify, train and develop outstanding students. The world gold medal further reinforces the quality of education and the reputation of the university, Hai Phong and Viet Nam on the global education map, while inspiring younger generations to continue learning, innovating, mastering technology and pursuing new frontiers of knowledge in the digital era.
