Developing agricultural tourism
Experience-based tourism linked to agriculture and rural areas is increasingly attracting visitors. Instead of simple sightseeing, many tourists choose destinations where they can directly experience and learn about production processes and enjoy local specialties.
With its diverse agricultural ecosystem, Hai Phong has strong potential to develop this type of tourism. The city boasts concentrated fruit-growing areas producing guava, lychee, apple and longan; aquaculture zones and ecological farms; and a network of rivers and waterways conducive to river-based tourism and activities such as cycling and kayaking. In addition, numerous traditional craft villages specializing in gold and silver crafting, red noodle, fish sauce production and incense making contribute to tourism products that reflect local cultural identity. To tap this potential effectively, many localities have planned production areas alongside tourism development, guided farmers to apply VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, and invested in infrastructure, improved transport, installed lighting systems and built visitor reception points./.
