Celebrating the 496th Anniversary of Emperor Mac Dang Dungs Coronation
On the morning of July 28th, at the Mac Dynasty memorial site in Ngu Doan commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong City, the 496th anniversary of the coronation of Thai To Mac Dang Dung taking place (June 15th, 1527). Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyan Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee and Mr. Dang Ba Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the City Party Committee attended and shared the joy with the descendants of the Vietnamese Mac lineage, the Mac lineage of Hai Phong City and a large number of people and tourists.
Emperor Mac Dang Dung was born in Co Trai village, Nghi Duong district, Kinh Mon land, Hai Duong town, now Dai Thang village of Ngu Doan commune in Kien Thuy district. In 1527, Mac Dang Dung was crowned to reign. Because he was good at martial arts and writing, he used his physical knowledge and virtues to govern the country and people and literature to train talents. The contributions of Emperor Mac Dang Dung and the Mac dynasty to the building and defending of the nation have been recorded in history books as a progressive dynasty with many ideological and cultural achievements. Celebrating the 496th anniversary of the coronation of Emperor Mac Dang Dung is a cultural activity with profound spiritual significance for the people of Kien Thuy in particular and the people of Hai Phong City in general. Not only preserving the traditional identity and knowledge, but it also is an opportunity to promote and honor the heritage values of the Mac Dynasty, promoting the unique cultural features of the ancient Duong Kinh land.
At the 496th anniversary of the coronation of Emperor Mac Dang Dung, the city leaders and local people offered incense to pay tribute to Mac Thai To's merit. Within the framework of the celebration, there are other activities such as the ceremony of honoring outstanding teachers and students in the school year 2022–2023, displaying booths introducing typical products of the region, and many other arts and culture activities. The event runs until the end of July 29th, 2023.
