While many national parks are known for a single characteristic ecosystem, Cat Ba is distinguished by a rare diversity, integrating several different ecosystems within a relatively compact area. It is also one of the few national parks in Vietnam that encompasses forests, seas, limestone mountain ranges, wetlands and coral reefs. This diversity sets it clearly apart from the country’s 36 national parks.
