National Conference on the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation
On the morning of January 13 in Hanoi, the Central Secretariat organized the National Conference on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, attended and delivered a speech to direct the conference. President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; along with leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Central Committees, Ministries, and Branches also attended the conference. In Hai Phong City, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, along with other members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice-Chairmen of the City People's Council and the City People's Committee attended the conference.
The conference aims to assess the implementation of the resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat regarding the development of science, technology, and innovation. It also aims to thoroughly study and implement Resolution No. 57, issued on December 22, 2024, by the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. The goal is to create a transformative change in awareness and organizational execution, contributing to the development of a prosperous nation. At the same time, it calls for the implementation of tasks related to science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation to be carried out methodically, scientifically, sustainably, and effectively, ensuring high unity within the Party, the people’s consensus, the business community, entrepreneurs, and society. Resolution No. 57, issued by the Politburo on December 22, 2024, emphasizes that the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation is a decisive factor in the development of nations. It is the essential condition and the best opportunity for Vietnam to become prosperous and strong in the new era – the era of the nation's rise. The resolution also outlines seven key groups of tasks and solutions, focusing on enhancing awareness and renewing the thinking about the role of science and technology; identifying strong resolve of the leadership to create new momentum and social consensus; and increasing investment in science, technology, and digital transformation. At the conference, the Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation was established, led by General Secretary To Lam. A National Advisory Council on the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation has also been set up, with the participation of both domestic and international experts./.
