Opening of 2025 Book Street
On the evening of April 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City opened the Hai Phong Book Street 2025 with the theme “Reading – The Path to Success”. This is the first event in a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2025) - Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Festival 2025 as well as Vietnam Book Day on April 21.

Attending the event were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Mr. Le Anh Quan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chuyen, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Mr. Le Tri Vu, Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Committee; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong, along with leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said: The Book Street will create a space for publishers, businesses, book trading and distribution companies to share, learn, exchange professional experiences, promote brands, access readers' needs and reading trends.

Hai Phong Book Street 2025 has 16 booths displaying, introducing and selling about 10,000 books in many genres such as children's books, science books, literature and art books from 15 major publishers and bookstores nationwide. The exciting activities at the book street along with a series of reading experiences here will contribute to bringing books closer to readers, forming reading habits, and improving the reading culture for people. The book street is a place where many cultural activities, tourism, social, cultural and educational events take place, meeting the needs of readers as well as the development requirements of the city.

Held from April 19 to May 20, in the Kim Dong flower garden, the Organizing Committee hopes that Book Street will become "a cultural specialty of the city"./.
