Nui Voi Traditional Festival 2024 Opens
On February 23rd evening, An Lao district held the opening ceremony of the Núi Voi (Elephant Mountain) Traditional Festival in spring 2024. Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City’s Party Committee; Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Major General Bui Cong Chuc, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Zone 3, members of the city Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the city’s Peoples Council and Peoples Committee, as well as a large number of local people and tourists attended the festival.

 

This year's Elephant Mountain Traditional Festival takes place from February 23rd to February 25th, 2024 (Lunar January 14th to 16th). The cultural, artistic, and sports activities, such as music and dance, camps, puppet shows, artistic dance, all-women tugs-of-war, men's volleyball, etc., attracted the participation and enthusiastic response of all communes and towns, and a large number of people and tourists. Coming to the Núi Voi Traditional Festival 2024, people and visitors will also be able to enjoy famous local products, such as the Chi Lai tea and Tien Hoi potatoes, explore famous destinations and historical relics, e.g., the Elephant Throat Cave and Gia Vi Cave, as well as and spiritual cultural complexes such as Chi Lai Pagoda, Long Hoa Pagoda and Temple of Female General Le Chan.

Along with organizing the annual Núi Voi traditional festival, An Lao district wants to introduce and promote the local cultural and historical values, tourism, and potential. The district’s authority also wants to inherit and promote the heroic and unyielding tradition of the hometown’s Poinsettia Tran Tat Van, improve the spiritual culture life of local people, and contribute to preserving and promoting culture imbued with national identity./.
