Connecting Tourism Businesses with the Railway Sector
On the afternoon of April 24, at Hai Phong Station, Hai Phong City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Vietnam Railways Corporation to organize a conference connecting tourism businesses with the railway industry to develop new tourism products, promote and stimulate tourism in the city.

 

As of April 22, 2025, Hai Phong Station has welcomed more than 325,000 passengers. The number of passengers traveling on holidays and weekends averages over 3,500 passengers/day. Tourism is currently "reviving" the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, one of the oldest route in Vietnam. Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said: to effectively promote Hai Phong railway tourism, it is necessary to connect the railway industry with service businesses to form quality tourism products meeting tourists’ needs.

Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation Nguyen Chinh Nam said that the railway industry has turned limitations and shortcomings into advantages and unique characteristics with specific solutions: Improving the quality of train cars and service quality; Renovating equipment and waiting rooms; opening VIP waiting lounges at some main stations such as Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong; arranging motorbike rental services, public bicycle services; developing the concept of Railway cafe; etc.

At the Conference, Vietnam Railways Corporation signed a Cooperation Agreement on the Program to stimulate railway tourism to Hai Phong City with the Hai Phong Tourism Association and a number of partner organizations and businesses. This agreement includes many attractive incentives, promising to bring interesting experiences to tourists.

Vietnam Railways Corporation is expected launch the Red Flamboyant Train on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong 2025 on May 10, 2025, as a unique and attractive tourism product for visitors./.
