Celebrating 75th Anniversary Of Thuy Nguyen District’s Uprising
This morning, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen district wholeheartedly received the First-grade Independence Medal, commemorating the year of the Thuy Nguyen district’s Traditional Day of Uprising on October 25. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Mr. Le Tien Chau–Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong City’s National Assembly Delegation–, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung–Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City’s Party Committee, Chairman of the city’s People's Committee–, Mr. Do Manh Hien–Standing Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City’s Party Committee–attended the event.
Seventy-five years ago, under the unified direction of the district’s Party Committee and the administration of the Administrative Resistance Committee, on the night of October 24th and early morning of October 25th, 1948, the Steering Committee ordered soldiers and guerrillas and the locals of Thuy Nguyen district, to drive off the invaders. The 1948 uprising in the Thuy Nguyen district was a remarkable event, an outstanding victory in the nine years of resistance against the returning French colonizers, demonstrating a resilient, indomitable fighting spirit, courage, intelligence, patriotism, and deep hatred for the enemy of the Thuy Nguyen army and people.
Being proud of the achievements in the glorious 75-year historical journey, the Party Committee, government, and people of Thuy Nguyen district have upheld revolutionary traditions, promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges, maximize potential and advantages to develop. In the last ten years, the district has undergone concrete and groundbreaking development with impressive achievements contributing to the city. The district's economy has been developing stably as the production value of all industries exceeds the set goals and plans and remains at a high level, reaching an average of 15.6% per year. The production value of the industry-construction and service sectors currently accounts for 93.2% of the district's economic structure.
The 75th anniversary of the Thuy Nguyen uprising reminds officials, Party members, and people of the district to take pride in the city’s northern gateway while planning to expand its urban space, building Thuy Nguyen into a city under Hai Phong City before 2025./.
