Action Month For Gender Equality Launched
On the morning of November 14th, Hai Phong City’s Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs launched the action month on gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence in response to the theme “Ensuring social security, empowering and creating opportunities for women and girls to achieve gender equality and eliminate violence against women and girls.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Hai Phong City People's Committee Vice Chairman and Head of the city's Committee for the Advancement of Women, Mr. Le Khac Nam, emphasized that gender equality was always of importance, especially in industrialization and modernization. An equal society is where everyone is given equal opportunities to develop and enjoy, without violence or abuse of women and children.
On this occasion, five excellent organizations and six individuals in implementing the Action Month on Gender Equality and gender-based violence prevention and response honorably received certificates of merit from the Chairman of Haiphong People's Committee./.
