Nipro Pharma invests US$ 250 mil. to build pharmaceutical factory

August 2012, Nipro Pharma Vietnam Co., Ltd (a branch of Nipro Pharma
Corporation Japan) commenced the construction of a factory to produce
pharmaceutical products and medical instruments in VSIP Hai Phong
Integrated Township and Industrial Park, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong
City.

On 8th August 2012, Nipro Pharma Vietnam Co., Ltd (a branch of Nipro Pharma Corporation Japan) commenced the construction of a factory to produce pharmaceutical products and medical instruments in VSIP Hai Phong Integrated Township and Industrial Park, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City.
Attending the ground-breaking ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Duong Anh Dien, Vice Secretary of Hai Phong’s Party Committee cum Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, Mr. Hirofumi Miyake, Economic Counselor of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, representative leaders of Hai Phong authoritative departments and Japanese investors.This is the biggest out of 5 FDI projects investing in VSIP Hai Phong Integrated Township and Industrial Park, and a project to welcome the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
The factory which was 100% invested by Nipro Pharma Corporation with total capital of USD 250 million would be built on an area of 15 hectares to produce pharmaceutical products and medical instruments at high quality and cheap price for export to the world market. As scheduled, the factory will produce annually 20 million saline bags, 40 million syringes, 40 million ampoules, 2 billion tablets and capsules, and 1 billion medicated plasters, etc… and achieve an export turnover of over USD 50 million per year. In a speech at the ground-breaking ceremony, Mr. Makoto Sato, President of Nipro Pharma Corporation emphasized that “…the pharmaceutical factory hopefully will play a significant role in the pharmaceutical industry of Hai Phong City in particular and Vietnam in general…”
As scheduled, the construction work will be completed in August 2013; then after a trial test and initial production, the factory will be put in official operation in April 2015.
