Strengthen Fighting Against IUU Fishing
Starting from August 1st, any fishing activities that are illegal or prohibited under the Fisheries Law will face prosecution for criminal liability.

These activities include fishing without a license, exploiting aquatic products in restricted zones, catching undersized aquatic species, using forbidden fishing methods and equipment, fishing illegally outside Vietnamese waters, exceeding the allowed production limits for certain species, and conducting fishing operations beyond the expiration date on their license.
Recently, the Hai Phong Border Guard has been actively promoting and educating fishermen on complying with legal regulations related to fishing activities. Despite these efforts, some fishermen have been found to use various methods to evade inspections. The Border Guard has promptly detected and dealt with such violations following the law.
The Hai Phong Border Guard has increased patrolling and controlling fishing vessels at sea and fishing ports to ensure that fishing activities adhere to Vietnamese and international laws. These efforts aim to help Vietnam avoid the European Commission's "yellow card" warning on seafood exports./.
