Cat Ba national park promotes biodiversity conservation
Cat Ba National Park is one of Vietnam's most important special-use forests, with an exceptional ecosystem. The park plays a vital role not only in conserving natural resources and biodiversity, but also in protecting the ecological environment of the port city.

Thanks to more than four decades of conservation efforts, scientific research and international cooperation, Cat Ba National Park is now home to more than 4,100 species. Among them are 156 endemic, endangered, rare and threatened species protected under Vietnamese and international law.
Many hold global conservation value, including the Cat Ba langur, a species found only on Cat Ba Island. This has helped affirm the park's special position within Vietnam's and the world's protected area systems.
Mr. Vu Hong Van, Head of Conservation and International Cooperation Division, Cat Ba National Park
Cat Ba National Park is striving to become a center for conserving valuable genetic resources, while also serving as a learning laboratory for sustainable development within Vietnam's network of national parks and protected areas. It is also an indispensable part of a globally significant shared heritage.
