Hai Phong - Hongkong economic relation
On April 14th afternoon, a seminar on networking businesses in Hai Phong City and Hong Kong took place with the presence of representatives from 150 businesses. The event was an opportunity for the two sides to share and exchange demands, advantages, and potentials while opening up about new opportunities in cooperation, contributing to meeting the development goals of the two sides.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Mrs. Ha Kim Ngoc, and Hai Phong City People's Committee Vice Chairman Mr. Le Khac Nam emphasized that over the years, the investment-trade cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Hong Kong has earned several achievements. Hong Kong is Vietnam's fifth-largest foreign investor, and Vietnam is Hong Kong's seventh-largest trading partner.

In Hai Phong City, there are 129 investment projects by businesses in Hong Kong (China), with an estimated capital of over USD 2.8 billion. With the advantage of seaports as well as the development of logistics and service industries, the connection and cooperation between Hong Kong and Hai Phong show potential for genuine achievements, accompanied by a clear vision and a strong commitment to further development in the coming years.

Within the framework of the Program, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Hai Phong City’s Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and the Hong Kong Business Association was signed to create more opportunities for the parties to exchange and connect regarding the development of businesses on both sides.
