Hai Phong city’s leader receives Chinese investors
On the afternoon of July 26th, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong City’s Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee, hosted a meeting and worked with Mr. Chen Jian Cheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wolong Electric & Gas Group (China).

Wolong Electric and Gas Group is currently implementing a project of manufacturing motors and motor spare parts, with an investment of 30 million USD in An Duong Industrial Park, creating jobs for more than 400 people. The chairman of Wolong Electric and Gas Group expressed his deep gratitude to Hai Phong City People's Committee for their interest in helping the group, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic. Hai Phong City has created favorable conditions for disease prevention and control, as well as the immigration of foreign workers. Despite the impact of the pandemic, the group has been on the path of development with stable growth. Expressing his belief in Vietnam's economic development policy, and at the same time informing that some Chinese investors are interested in building factories in Hai Phong, the Chairman of Wolong Group invited the city’s leaders to visit the company in China.
The Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee thanked the group for the working visit, informing the investors on the socio-economic development and investment attraction policies of Hai Phong City. Chinese investors are implementing 176 projects in Hai Phong with a total investment of about 5.27 billion USD, mainly in electricity, electronics, textiles, etc. The city is studying to set up a free economic zone, hoping the Chinese side has plenty of experience in this field and will support Hai Phong City in document preparation and project development. The city will assist the group in expanding investment, strengthening links with local businesses, and studying to deploy new projects in the city. On this occasion, the Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee and the Head of Wolong Group presented souvenirs to each other.
