926,6 billion VND of import-export excess added to Hai Phong City’s budgets
At the recent 14th meeting–a thematic meeting–of the Hai Phong City People’s Council (term 2021-2026), the council considered, voted, and agreed on 12 Decisions detrimental to the city’s socio-economic development and security maintenance.
One of the important Decisions approved in the meeting was the plan to distribute the excess reward among the Central, local budget and re-investments per the 2022-ruled specified mechanisms.
According to the city’s Customs Department of Customs, in 2022, Hai Phong amassed 67,806 billion VND from the import-export State budget revenue, surpassing its target of 55,930 by 11,876 billion VND. Under Resolution 89/2017/NĐ-CP dated July 29th 2017 on the Regulations of Hai Phong City’s distinct mechanisms and budget-financial policies, the Prime Minister passed he Decision 1491/QĐ-TTg dated Novemeber 29th 2023 to reward 926.6 billion VND to the city for exceeding its planned revenue. The reward acts as a supplemental source of budget for the city’s public investment projects and social developments in 2024.
As a matter of fact, at its 14th meeting, Hai Phong City People’s Council approved to add 896.6 billion VND and another 30 billion VND to the Social Policy Bank’s capital trust. The decision to invest in public projects will help the city complete its socio-economic targets per Decision 09 – NQ/ĐH dated October 15th, 2020 of the 16th City Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, which includes the economization and anti-misspending of the budget, as well as the prioritization of the resources for key programs and projects. /.
