East-west connectivity corridor to expand development space
At its recent fifth session, Hai Phong People’s Council adopted a resolution approving the investment policy for the East-West Connectivity Road Project in the city. The project aims to create a modern, synchronized transport corridor, providing fresh momentum for expanding the city’s development space, easing traffic pressure on National Highway 5, and shortening travel time between the city’s western and eastern urban centers.
Information about the East-West Connectivity Road, which will pass through several localities, has attracted widespread attention and received support from officials and residents across the city, particularly people in Nam Đồng Ward.
With a large scale and a preliminary investment of nearly VND 22.7 trillion, the East-West Connectivity Road is expected to create new opportunities for production and business, increase land values and improve local residents’ living conditions. Under the plan, the corridor will be approximately 23.59 kilometers long, with a preliminary total investment of about VND 22.669 trillion. The project is expected to require approximately 284.77 hectares of land and pass through nine communes and wards: An Duong, An Phong, Kim Thanh, Ha Nam, Ha Bac, Thanh Ha, Ha Tay, Ai Quoc and Nam Dong. To facilitate implementation, local authorities have been preparing to undertake site clearance work for the project. The project is expected to enhance the city’s ability to attract investment, improve intra-regional and inter-regional transport connectivity, create new development space and unlock the potential for stronger socio-economic development./.
