This is one of the key activities in the series of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Hai Phong, in order to review the historical event of great stature and significance of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to France in 1946 as the head of the independent country. sovereign. At the same time, looking back on the 80-year journey of implementing Uncle's teachings for the Party Committee, the government, the army and the people of Hai Phong; especially evaluating the results of 10 years of implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo. Thereby, promoting the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, methods and style in the new development period according to Directive 07-CT/TW; promote the spirit of patriotic emulation, determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid deep attention to Hai Phong city, Hai Duong province (now Hai Phong city). He follows each development of the revolutionary movement and directs the socio-economic development process of Hai Phong city. As early as the 20s, Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc chose Hai Phong as one of the two cities as a "bridgehead" to spread Marxism-Leninism to Vietnam.

On October 20 and 21, 1946, the people of Hai Phong were able to welcome him for the first time on the occasion of his return from France. Talking to the people of the city, Uncle emphasized: "... Thanks to the example of the elders who came before us, the brothers and sisters worked together, Hai Phong will definitely become an exemplary city of our country, this is the responsibility of the elders, brothers and sisters, I am sure that the people will succeed"...

On the day of taking over the liberation of Hai Phong, he emotionally wrote: "After 80 years of humiliation, today Hai Phong has risen up, liberated... Everyone's faces were happy and joyful, like spring flowers blooming, years of hardship, and solidarity and fighting had glorious results! The North has been completely liberated, Hai Phong has been completely liberated." And 20 days later, on June 2, 1955, Uncle Ho visited Hai Phong. From then until the time he went away, he also visited Hai Phong - Kien An, Hai Duong nine times. All eleven times he returned, each time he left an indelible deep impression on the people, cadres and party members of the city. He is simple and considerately caring for everyone, instructing and reminding local leaders; visiting the elderly, children, workers, farmers, foreign experts... During the years of fierce destruction and destruction, there were no conditions to visit, but Uncle still closely followed the situation in Hai Phong and Hai Duong, he sent letters and telegrams praising the troops and people of Hai Phong and Hai Duong for fighting bravely...
